When Lyft rolled out their e-bike program, they partnered with Cases By Source to design and manufacture portable cases that the service technicians could use to transport e-bike batteries. If there were 10 Lyft e-bikes on a city rack, for instance, the technician could take out five cases so the recharged batteries could be added to the e-bikes and the old batteries could be returned to the charging station.
As a storage system for lithium batteries, the transport case needed to be tested and certified to UL safety standards. We worked with Lyft from the program’s onset to manage this entire process, saving them time while ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards that Lyft customers expect.
