Custom cases and packaging for medical applications

Medical device and pharmaceutical companies require cases with demanding aesthetic and functional needs — and rightfully so. If there’s one industry with equipment that needs to stay safe, well, as you might imagine, it’s this one.

From withstanding specific temperature ranges or careful consideration in shipping valuable drugs, blood or tissue, custom medical cases are the safest and most ideal packaging solution for the presentation, organization and protection of your valuable medical devices. Our cases can be designed from a variety of materials including aluminum, EVA, plastic, nylon fabric or wood to provide any added value and protection your product needs — from implant sales kits and instrument trays to expensive medical equipment and beyond.

And the possibilities are endless — like custom foam interiors designed to your exact requirements, and our exterior options provide a variety of branding opportunities for company logos or other corporate identification.

We’ve built our reputation on delivering innovative, well-engineered solutions to our customers. With our experience solving case problems for Merck, Wyeth, Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson (to name just a few), our sales engineers guide you from the concept, design, production and delivery processes as you customize a unique case solution that works best for you. It’s an evolutionary and collaborative process and partnership that we pride ourselves on.

A little bit about our process

We’re passionate about creating the best custom designed carrying solutions for your medical products. At the core, we aim to first understand your vision and the requirements so that our industrial designers can combine corporate branding, design requirements, and technical innovations and design a truly individualized case. Depending on the complexity, this process can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 12 months — as you can imagine, a solution for a patient monitoring product is very different from an EMS product. During the design phase, renderings will be given to ensure that we execute against your vision. And once approved, first articles will be manufactured for testing and approval — followed by any modifications if necessary from the testing results. Finally, it’s on to the production phase. Many of our customers require monthly releases, kanbans, or alternative shipping arrangements to compliment the manufacturing and timing of the medical components, and we have the expertise and experience to support these JIT shipping requests — no problem. If this sounds like something that could work for you and your team, feel free to contact a sales engineer for a free consultation.

Medical & Pharmaceutical Case Applications

Experience the benefits of the express lane in equipment transport, without the 10-items-or-less caveat.

Maybe it’s the abnormal shape, or maybe it’s just the sheer size. When we’re talking about medical equipment, the hauling of products into hospitals can seem like just that — a haul. From the trunk or backseat of a sales rep’s car or another vehicle to the hospital, the entrance can seem like miles versus steps.

We help lighten the load for sales reps when dealing with all types of medical equipment. From soft bags outfitted with shoulder straps to ones that are equipped with wheels, our custom solutions make it easier for your sales reps to get medical equipment from Point A to Point B. All the while, heavier equipment transported via an alternative vehicle can be stored in ATA cases with wheels to easily pull them through the hospital doors and into the hands of doctors.

If there's something strange going on with your AED case, who you gonna call? Cases By Source!

Sudden emergencies call for solutions that can be deployed quickly. In the case of an AED — where every second counts — extra time spent removing a device from its packaging can be problematic as medical teams trained and ready to rush into action have to stop in their tracks.

Our custom case solutions help first responders save time and save lives. Whether you opt for a hard or soft case made of EVA or plastic (to name a few design choices), the end result is a lightweight, portable AED or defibrillator case that moves with medical teams. Custom foam interiors enable greater protection for devices in transit or can be used for display purposes on-site, while external pouches, handles, zippers and straps make handling as simple and effortless as possible.

Put a Marie-Kondo spin on your inventory storage — goodbye clutter, hello serenity!

Imagine walking into the back room of a shoe store to find inventory unorganized. While it’s one thing to inconvenience a retail shopper, it’s quite another concern to make surgeons and patients wait. But that’s what can happen when it’s difficult for sales reps to find the right size implants at a moment’s notice.

We strive to put the control back in implant inventory control. Our custom case solutions enable the inventory management of sterile packaged implants, with organized designs that clearly present sizes and allow for quick inventory counting. With ease of use, point of sale and accounting in mind, these sterilized case designs can be made fully wipeable on both the interior and exterior.

Roll out the red carpet. Give your sales kit a look that is sure to win the award for best dressed.

To make a good impression on hospitals, medical reps don’t just need to dress the part. They need to outfit their products with the right accessories too. After all, if a product is dressed up in a generic box that is difficult to open and disorganized, the first impression will be memorable — but not in a good way.

From concept to delivery, we will develop the ideal custom implant sales kit to suit your unique needs. With the most efficient manufacturing processes in mind to create the most lightweight product, we design hard and soft cases that make the right impression on hospitals. Unique brand identifiers add to the professional feel of your case, while a simplistic and neat interior supports a seamless presentation.

Grey’s Anatomy called. They want your procedure kit to keep those operating room scenes running smoothly.

While medical storylines on TV are often a stretch of the imagination, the scenes where doctors call out for tools (e.g., “scalpel, please”) are realistic. And on the other side of that request is a medical rep outside the surgical room that has relevant tools on hand. Naturally, the faster these tools can be provided to doctors, the better.

As an extension of your team, we can design kits that enable surgeon-specific presentations and thus faster turnaround times for delivering requested tools. Modular solutions enable multiple kit configurations in a single carrying case, further simplifying product portability. Focusing on the unique requirements of your equipment, we’ll deliver an optimal solution to give you carrying and transport flexibility — with the option for wipeable cases to keep items sterile.

“I’ve cracked the case” — a phrase that’s good for detectives and bad for medical device manufacturers.

Medical devices are a sensitive subject — literally. Often composed of delicate parts, these devices are prone to break or fail when mishandling occurs. And when you consider the price tag on these devices, the burn is much bigger than a cracked cell phone screen.

We can support you with packaging for your new product development programs, integrating your product into our custom case solutions. We develop a custom case with your brand in mind — from colors and logos to material selections — so the end result is a perfect complement to your product and business. Types of medical devices we’ve developed packaging for include optical loupes, blood glucose meters, oxygen tanks, endoscopes and patient monitoring systems.

Together, we can turn
your vision into a reality
